We are excited to host our Congregational Assembly in a hybrid format this year.  There is no fee charged for Assembly registration (virtual or in-person).

SCHEDULE

The Assembly begins with an opening session on Wednesday, June 21 at 9:45 a.m. The closing session will end on Sunday, June 25 by 12:00 p.m. noon.

To accommodate all four U.S. time zones, the daily sessions will be:

  • 9:45 a.m.– 11:45 a.m. (CDT)
  • 11:45 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. (CDT) for mid-day meal break
  • 1:00 – 4:00 or 4:30 p.m. (CDT) with a 25 min break in the afternoon

 

WAYS TO PARTICIPATE

You only need to register through this site if you are a Interactive Participant.

BVM Voting Participants will select either option 1 or 2 and be present either in person (1) or via Zoom (2) for all sessions.

You may choose to:

  1. be present in person at the Best Western Plus Hotel (fully interactive)
     
  2. participate from anywhere, other than the Best Western Plus Hotel in Dubuque, using Zoom for listening and break-out rooms (virtually interactive as an individual)

 

HOUSING OPTIONS

  1. Best Western Plus Hotel and Conference Center
    Cost: $109 + $13.08 taxes = $122.08 per night for 1 or 2 persons
    (includes complimentary breakfast buffet)
    Two night minimum stay
    You will request your hotel room through this registration site. You will provide a credit card to hold your room, but this card will not be charged until check in.
     
  2. Make your own arrangements for accommodations


MEALS

For all in-person participants at the Best Western Plus Hotel, mid-day meals and snacks will be provided by the congregation.  Evening meals are not provided.

 

CONTENT

The agenda is not yet fully worked out.  However, we anticipate:

  • Daily thematic prayer; Sunday Eucharistic Liturgy
  • Presentations: Finance, Laudato Si, Constitutions
  • Sacred conversations, ritual, on-going discernment


INTENTION

Spiraling into the future, we enliven our BVM values and deepen our relationships as we:

  • Acknowledge our losses and affirm our hopes.
  • Engage in critical conversations around the question surfaced at the 2022 Congregational Assembly:  What does it mean to grow smaller?
  • Tend our Directional Statements.
  • Discern and make decisions as needed.
