AGBT 2022 General Meeting Abstract Submission

AGBT welcomes your submission for AGBT’s flagship General Meeting. All abstracts will be reviewed by members of our esteemed scientific organizing committee.  You can submit your abstract for a poster presentation, an oral presentation, or as either a poster or oral presentation.  

Individuals interested in submitting an abstract should carefully check for content errors, spelling, names, etc. before submitting.  AGBT does not proofread for or correct spelling, typographical, grammatical, or scientific errors, nor can changes be made once the submission deadline passes.  

Abstract Submission Dates
Abstracts will be accepted until 3:00 p.m. (CT) on Wednesday, September 29, 2021. All abstracts received during this period will be treated equally, regardless of submission time.

Late Breaking Abstracts 
Late Breaking Abstracts will be accepted until 3:00 p.m. (CT), on Friday, December 10, 2021. All abstracts received during this period will be treated equally, regardless of submission time.

Notification of Abstract Status
All individuals listed as Abstract Presenters will be notified of acceptance or declination by email approximately 8 weeks after the abstract submission deadline.  Notices and instructions will be sent to the email address provided.

Abstract Details
Please enter the title of your abstract in sentence case; that is, capitalize only the first letter of the first word of the title, the first word after a colon, and any proper nouns or abbreviations.

Incorrect
“Identifying and Reporting Additional Transcript Features of Potential Clinical Relevance in Disease Genes”

Abstract Format Details
Abstract title, authors (bold presenting author and list first) and author affiliations must be listed at the top of your abstract. See example at the bottom of this page.

  • The total length of the abstract should not exceed 400 words.
  • Abstract files must be uploaded as a word document and saved as PresentingAuthorLastName.PresentingAuthorFirstName. Only one presenting author may be specified per abstract.
  • You may submit abstracts for others as well as yourself.

Notification
Abstracts submitted by Wednesday, September 29, 2021, will be notified of their acceptance or denial by November 23, 2021. If you have not received notification by November 23, 2021, please e-mail The Genome Partnership at SarahW@agbt.org.

Late Breaking Abstracts – Late Breaking submitters will be notified of their abstract acceptance or denial by January 7, 2022. If you have not received notification by January 7, 2022, please email The Genome Partnership at SarahW@agbt.org.

Please note that due to the growth in abstract submissions, we do not guarantee that all submitted abstracts will be selected for presentation.

Publication in our Online Meeting Book
If you do not wish to have your abstract published in the online meeting book, you will have the option to opt out.

All correspondence regarding this abstract will be sent to the Presenting Author.  A confirmation email will be sent upon abstract submission; please be sure to check the spam folder as well as your inbox. 

Registration
Individuals planning on presenting an abstract are encouraged to register as early as possible to ensure a room at our host hotel.

Request for Withdrawal
Once an abstract has been submitted, it may be withdrawn only by written request from the Abstract Presenter.  The request may be emailed to SarahW@agbt.org and must be received by February 11th, 2022.
